Sumilia has worked for several NGOs for 12 years, focusing mainly on agriculture, particularly on cocoa agroforestry. She contributed to cocoa smallholders’ built capacity in cocoa production in Sumatra, Sulawesi and Maluku. She implemented various activities including demonstrating good farming practices, transferring technologies, promoting climate-smart agriculture, assisting farmers with farmer organisation establishment and providing support for community development. Ms. Sumilia holds a bachelor’s degree in plant breeding from the University of Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta and recently obtained her master’s degree in agriculture from the University of Andalas in Padang, West Sumatra.
